The much-anticipated World Wide Convention of a famous multinational company was a
historic event in 2024
. This annual convention, which brings together thousands of franchisees, suppliers, and employees from all corners of the globe, took place in Barcelona from April 8-14, 2024. For the first time in the company’s history, the event was held outside North America, a bold move that attracted more than 14,000 visitors. This was a momentous occasion, and our team at Bonitaworld Media Productions SL was thrilled to be chosen to handle the audiovisual and broadcasting production for the event.

Filming a corporate event that will go down in Barcelona’s history

As one of the leading providers of AV and broadcast services, Bonitaworld Media Productions SL was honored to be a part of this landmark event. The convention itself was a key moment in the company’s global calendar, with presentations, performances, and networking events that brought together people from various industries and backgrounds. We were one company among maybe 20 large producers that handled projections, audio, lights, stage setup, content, LED walls, and LED stage. While others were multinational companies, we were the only local video production company. And they entrusted us with the video part – a testament to our expertise and reliability in the industry.

A Team of 50 AV Professionals

To execute this massive undertaking, Bonitaworld Media Productions SL assembled a team of 50 AV professionals, including camera operators, vision mixers, AV technicians, and more. With such a large-scale production, it was crucial to have a skilled and experienced crew working behind the scenes. Each member of the team played a vital role in ensuring that every moment of the convention was captured and broadcast without a hitch. From operating 33 broadcast and PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) cameras to managing complex video and audio systems, the team’s expertise and dedication were essential to the success of the event.

The Filming Equipment and Technology

To ensure comprehensive coverage of the 120-meter-long stage where the majority of the action took place, Bonitaworld Media Productions supplied 33 high-end broadcast cameras, including PTZ cameras for flexibility and precise control. The cameras were strategically positioned to capture every angle and every key moment during the event. In addition to the cameras, Bonitaworld Media Productions SL provided state-of-the-art broadcasting equipment, including video village setups for monitoring feeds and coordinating with various camera teams. Every aspect of the production was carefully planned, ensuring smooth transitions between different segments of the event.

The AV team worked tirelessly to ensure that the technology was up to the highest standards, with systems in place for instant replays, live broadcasts, and video feeds to the attendees. This large-scale production required robust infrastructure and precise coordination to ensure that nothing was left to chance.

Pre-Event Filming Preparation

Planning for an event of this magnitude starts long before the doors of the convention hall open. In fact, we began the process a full 14 days before the event with the setup of all equipment in a nearby hall. This pre-set-up phase was critical for testing and fine-tuning the equipment to ensure everything was in perfect working order. It also provided an opportunity for the AV team to rehearse the different work flows and adjust for any technical challenges that might arise.

Seven Days of On-Site Setup

After the pre-set-up, the team moved to the Fira Congress Hall in Barcelona for the official 7 days of setup at the event venue. This was the phase where all the planning, testing, and adjustments from the previous weeks came together. It was crucial to have a dedicated and experienced team on-site to oversee the installation of the cameras, equipment, and broadcasting infrastructure. The team worked meticulously to ensure that every aspect of the audiovisual production was in place before the show began. Hundreds of meters of fibre cables were laid from the tent into the event hall. Every camera connects via fibre with the AV mixing desk.

Three Days of Live Production

The event itself spanned three show days, each packed with high-energy presentations, product unveilings, and performances. The massive stage and dynamic content meant that the crew had to be prepared for anything. With 33 cameras capturing every moment, the team worked in perfect harmony to deliver smooth transitions, clear visuals, and crystal-clear audio to both the live audience and those watching via the broadcast.

We created a video village, which served as a centralized hub where the production team could monitor all feeds, coordinate camera movements, and ensure everything went according to plan. Having such a large crew and extensive equipment allowed Bonitaworld Media Productions SL to respond quickly to any changes or challenges, ensuring that the production ran smoothly across the entire three days.

An Exceptional Collaboration with Leading Global Production Companies

This exceptional event was made possible by a powerful collaboration between TullyCreative, Bonitaworld Media Productions SL, and many other companies like Neumann & Müller, StageCo, Dumand… The creme de la creme from all over Europe…
