Filming Locations and Permits in Valencia
Valencia's most-filmed locations sit under different permit authorities, and getting the process wrong costs time. The City of Arts and Sciences requires direct coordination with the Generalitat Valenciana; lead times depend on production scale and vary significantly. The historic centre operates under Valencia City Council, with separate processes for the Cathedral district, Plaza de la Virgen, and Barrio del Carmen. Coastal and beach shoots require independent authorisation through the Costas authority.
Futuristic Architecture
City of Arts and Sciences, Bioparc, and the Polytechnic University campus. The City of Arts and Sciences has its own permit process and applies commercial rates on top of the standard public road authorisation. Plan significantly more lead time than for standard street locations.
Historic Centre
Valencia Cathedral, Plaza de la Virgen, Central Market, and Barrio del Carmen. Public spaces go through the Ajuntament de València base permit process. Central Market requires separate authorisation directly through its own venue management, running in parallel with any street permit.
