Markus Ruf

Founder & Head Producer

I founded Camera Crew Spain in 2008 after learning this business from the ground up, starting as a camera assistant and sound assistant, then an officially registered 1st AD, working my way up to becoming a Producer for international productions. I studied the art mainly on set, which is why I understand every challenge a production can face.

My business education - a BA in European Business Administration from Middlesex University and business management studies at the European School of Business in Germany - combined with extensive on-set experience provide the strategic foundation that allows me to create accurate budgets, manage international client relationships, and coordinate complex multi-location productions with financial precision.

I approach every production as a dedicated problem solver with comprehensive oversight responsibilities. My philosophy centers on building long-term client relationships based on trust and on working with my crew as one unified team, giving maximum respect to every individual member regardless of their role.

When challenges arise, and they always do in complex productions, I focus on finding solutions that meet everyone's objectives while keeping projects on schedule and within budget.

After 15+ years in this business, I've learned that exceptional productions come from combining technical expertise with genuine care for both the project and the people making it happen.

Camera Crew Spain operates as a division of Bonitaworld Media Productions S.L. (Tax ID: ES-B64941925), a fully registered Spanish company with liability insurance and complete payroll/employment infrastructure for crew and talent.

What we keep bringing to our clients’ Video productions

English-Speaking Crews & Clear Communication

Our production coordinators communicate fluently in English. Whether you're coordinating from London, New York, or Beijing, you'll have clear communication throughout pre-production, shoot days, and post-delivery. We also have team members speaking German, Italian, and French.

Transparent Budgets & Realistic Planning

Our budgets are calculated line-by-line with no hidden fees or surprise charges. Timelines account for Spanish permit processes and logistics: realistic schedules, not optimistic promises. Equipment lists include only what your production actually needs, not what maximizes our revenue.

Owned Equipment & Guaranteed Availability

We own our core production inventory: Sony FX9, FX6, FX3, Arri Alexa, RED cameras, professional lenses, lights and sound gear. This means guaranteed backup availability and equipment maintained to broadcast standards. When you book our gear, rental house availability isn't a risk factor.

Nationwide Coordination & Permit Expertise

We coordinate multi-city productions and whether you're filming in Madrid, Valencia, Seville, or the islands, we handle location scouting, municipal permits, crew deployment, and equipment logistics. One point of contact for shoots across multiple Spanish regions.

Problem-Solving from 17 Years Experience

Since 2008, we've handled hundreds of international productions across Spain. We've encountered every logistical challenge multiple times: from last-minute location changes to weather contingencies. Our crews solve problems proactively before they impact your timeline or budget.

Efficient Crews That Move Fast

We deploy smaller, highly technical crews instead of bloated sets. Our teams include only the specialists your production requires: cinematographers, sound technicians, and coordinators who work efficiently. You get professional results without paying for unnecessary personnel on your call sheet.
